ABOUT US

Messengers of Peace

Messengers of Peace is an international, multicultural and independent organization, founded in Italy and active for over ten years with a concrete commitment to the promotion of peace, human dignity and environmental protection, with a particular focus on the African continent.

The association works in contexts marked by deep environmental and social inequalities, where access to water, health care and essential resources is not guaranteed. In these territories, peace is not an abstract concept, but a condition that depends on meeting basic needs and ensuring concrete rights.

Our Mission

For Messengers of Peace, peace arises from the balance between people, nature and communities.
Ensuring access to clean drinking water, protecting the environment, supporting local populations and promoting a responsible relationship with the land means laying the foundations for a dignified and stable life.

In this sense, water is not just a resource: it is life, health and the possibility of a future. Where water is contaminated or absent, the minimum conditions for peace are lost.

Our Vision

We believe that peace is built through knowledge, scientific responsibility and a deep respect for the Earth.
Nature is not a resource to be exploited, but a fragile system to be understood and protected.

For this reason, our approach brings together:

  • science, as a tool for understanding and conscious action;

  • relationships with communities, based on listening and long-term presence;

  • an ethical vision, placing human dignity and environmental balance at the center.

Messengers of Peace promotes a model of development that does not separate progress from respect, but holds them together, recognizing that the environment is an integral part of human life.

Our Origins: a Commitment Rooted in the Land

For years, the association has been operating in the Niger Delta, one of the richest areas in natural resources and at the same time among the most affected by the consequences of oil extraction.
Here, the pollution of surface water has compromised community health, making it necessary to carry out in-depth research into underground aquifers.

Messengers of Peace was born from this awareness: the need to intervene in a structural, scientific and long-term way, working alongside local authorities, institutions and communities to restore access to safe water and protect the land.

Not sporadic interventions, but relationships built over time.

The Founder

Messengers of Peace was born from the experience and vision of Theodore Amanfo, a geologist of Nigerian origin, educated in both Nigeria and Italy.

From an early age, his relationship with land and sea nurtured a deep curiosity for nature and its balances. His scientific training in geology allowed him to combine technical knowledge with ethical responsibility, developing a vision in which environment and human beings are inseparable.

For Theodore, geology is not only a scientific discipline, but a way of reading the world: understanding the Earth means respecting it.
And respecting the Earth means taking care of the people who inhabit it.

This vision is now at the heart of the association.

A Bridge Between Worlds

Messengers of Peace is a multicultural organization that works as a bridge between Italy and Nigeria, between science and communities, between technical knowledge and human needs.
The association collaborates with professionals, technicians, journalists, educators and cultural mediators, convinced that only an integrated approach can generate real and lasting change.

Looking Ahead

Messengers of Peace continues to work to ensure access to clean water, support the most vulnerable communities and promote a more just relationship between people and the environment.

Because peace is not just a value to proclaim.
It is a condition to be built, every day, starting from the land and from people.
