Our Projects

Messengers of Peace projects are born from listening to local territories and develop through an approach that combines scientific expertise, local relationships, and a focus on fundamental rights.

We operate primarily in Nigeria, in contexts marked by environmental and social fragilities, with the goal of strengthening communities and building lasting peace.

Our activities are structured across several interconnected areas of intervention, all guided by a shared vision:
where essential needs are met, lasting peace can emerge.

School and education

Education is one of the cornerstones of human and community development.
Messengers of Peace supports educational projects aimed at children, intervening both materially and by improving the living conditions that enable access to schooling.

In many areas, the lack of water, resources and infrastructure forces children to drop out of school. That's why our educational interventions are always integrated and designed with a long-term perspective.

Main activities:

  • Meetings with students

  • Distribution of school supplies

  • Financial support for families

  • Improvement of school infrastructure, including access to water

Schools involved:

  • Araromi Nursery & Primary School - Araromi, Apapa, Lagos State (2024)
  • Pioneer Primary School – Ubachima, Awo Omamma Imo State, within the St. John Catholic Church complex

Water borehole and access to water

Access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right and a top priority for Messengers of Peace.
In the Niger Delta, environmental pollution related to natural resource exploitation often renders surface water sources unsafe, with serious consequences for health and daily life.

Our interventions rely on geological studies and a scientific approach that allows us to identify deep, protected aquifers, ensuring long-lasting and safe solutions for communities.

Projects:

Local interventions

Alongside structural projects, Messengers of Peace carries out direct interventions to support communities, addressing immediate needs and strengthening local resources.

These actions stem from a constant presence in the territory and ongoing dialogue with the people who live there, respecting social and environmental dynamics.

Areas of intervention:

  • Distribution of food and essential supplies

  • Support for agricultural and productive community activities

  • Support for local activities linked to the Ubachima mines

  • Waste disposal initiatives and environmental protection

Healthcare support

Health is a central element in protecting human dignity and building peace.
Messengers of Peace supports communities on the healthcare front as well, promoting initiatives to improve access to basic services and reduce risks related to environmental pollution and lack of safe water.

Ethical travel and international volunteering

To truly understand a place means to cross it, not consume it.

Messengers of Peace promotes ethical travel and international volunteering programs as tools for deep understanding, cultural exchange and shared responsibility.

Traveling with Messengers of Peace means building relationships with territories and local communities, taking part in everyday life, and understanding social, environmental, and cultural contexts from within.
These are not tourist experiences, but opportunities for encounter, learning, and collaboration, developed with respect for places and people.

Our ethical travel initiatives are rooted in the association's long-standing presence in Nigeria, particularly in the south-east of the country, and in the desire to create meaningful bridges between cultures, skills, and needs.

Support for migrants

Messengers of Peace is committed to supporting migrants, recognizing the value of the people and the stories they carry.
The association works to promote inclusion pathways, intercultural dialogue, and rights protection, both in countries of origin and in arrival contexts.

Combating marginalization means building bridges, not walls.

Support Our Projects

Every Messengers of Peace intervention stems from a real need and turns into concrete action on the ground. With your support, we can continue to bring water, education, health, and dignity to the most vulnerable communities.
