ABOUT US

Messengers of Peace was born from the meeting of scientific expertise, deep knowledge of the territory, and social commitment.

Founded by Theodore Amanfo, a Nigerian-born geologist trained in Italy, the organization has been working for over ten years in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta—one of the areas most affected by environmental pollution caused by oil extraction.

Our approach combines:

• geological and technical expertise

• collaboration with local communities

• long-term, sustainable interventions

Because peace is not an abstract concept: it begins with the protection of fundamental rights.

WHAT WE DO

We take action where needs are most urgent.

Our projects are rooted in listening to local contexts and are developed through concrete, carefully planned and shared actions.

Water and wells
We build drinking-water wells in areas affected by pollution and water scarcity, starting from geological and geophysical studies to ensure safe and long-lasting interventions.

School and education
We support schools and students through the distribution of educational materials, financial assistance, and projects linked to access to water, such as those in Ajeromi Ifelodun (Lagos) and Ubachima Awoomamma.

Community-based interventions
We work alongside local communities through actions including:

• distribution of food and basic necessities

• support for agriculture and local production

• waste management

• healthcare support

People and mobility
We promote ethical travel, cultural mediation, and support for migrants, working both in countries of origin and along integration pathways.

A SYMBOLIC PROJECT

The first well in Ubachima (2016)

In 2016, in Ubachima, in Imo State, Messaggeri di Pace built its first drinking water well.
Nine years later, that well is still active and continues to serve hundreds of families.

It is the project that marked the beginning of a vision: using science to restore dignity, health, and stability to communities affected by environmental pollution.
